Stripe Connect Integration
Stripe Connect allows you to process payments directly to your affiliates through our platform. This guide will help you set up and manage Stripe Connect payments.
Requirements
To use Stripe Connect, you need:
- A verified Stripe account for your company
- Affiliates with verified Stripe accounts
- Both accounts connected to Insert Affiliate
Setup Process
Company Setup
- Go to Settings
- Connect your company's Stripe account
- Complete Stripe's verification process
- Once verified, you can start processing payments
Affiliate Setup
- Affiliates need to connect their Stripe account in their affiliate settings
- They'll need to complete Stripe's verification process
- Once verified, they can receive payments directly
Processing Payments
When using Stripe Connect:
- Click "Pay via Stripe" on the transaction
- Enter payment details in the secure Stripe form
- Once processed, the payment is automatically marked as paid
- Affiliates receive the payment directly to their connected Stripe account
Fees
Stripe Connect fees are approximately 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction. View current rates
Testing Paying Affiliates
Important Note About Testing
Insert Affiliate currently runs on a production Stripe Connect instance only. This means:
- You cannot use Stripe's test mode or test card numbers for testing affiliate payments
- You must use real payment methods to test the affiliate payout flow
- Recommended approach: Process a minimal real payment (e.g., $0.01 or $1.00) to verify the integration works correctly
Testing Best Practices
- Start with a very small payment amount to minimize costs during testing
- Ensure both your company and test affiliate have completed Stripe verification
- Verify that payments appear correctly in both the Insert Affiliate dashboard and Stripe Dashboard
- Confirm affiliates receive payments in their connected Stripe account
